Mr. Olympia Preview and Predictions 2017

Mr. Olympia Preview and Predictions 2017. Will Phil Heath win #7 tying him with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and only 1 behind Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney for the most Olympias ever? Will Kai Greene shock the world and accept his standing Mr. Olympia invite and show up? Can Dexter Jackson, at the ripe age of 47 (will be 48 in November), shock the world and become a 2 time champion? Will Big Ramy come in shredded and out muscle Phil? Check out my 2016 Mr. Olympia Predictions

Predictions

10-Nathan De Asha

Nathan looked great at his first Mr. Olympia last year and finished in 12th place. He qualified this year by winning the Lou Ferrigno show at the end of 2016.

Nathan De Asha

9- Brandon Curry

The surprise of 2017 has to be Brandon Curry. Brandon Curry has been hanging out with the Camel Crew in Kuwait and his results have been insane. Brandon Curry won the Arnold Australia and the New Zealand Pro this year, knocking off some great bodybuilders in his way.

Brandon Curry

8- Josh Lenartowicz

Josh is from Australia and they grow them big down under! Josh has freaky mass and conditioning and could really see him doing well this Olympia. Unfortunately he was the first person to find Dallas McCarver dead. It will be interesting to see if Josh can recover from his friend’s death.

Josh L.

7-Roelly Winklaar

Roelly has the freakiest arms in the world, and if he can control his stomach, he may be able to find a top five placing. Roelly’s recent updates show that he is massive!

Roelly Winklaar

6- Cedric McMillan

Cedric is one of the few that has a chance to become Mr. Olympia. He has the frame, however he has missed his conditioning at every Olympia he has competed at. He looked great at the Arnold Classic. If he brings that conditioning, or better, he could be in the top 3.

5- William Bonac

The best bodybuilder under 5’5 in William Bonac. He has so much muscle for his tiny frame. People compare him to Dexter Jackson, but that is not a fair comparison. He has a ton of muscle, and would be considered a “mass monster” if he was 5’8+. I don’t think with his structure he can improve much more than 4th or 5th.

4- Shawn Rhoden

Shawn is another bodybuilder who has the shape to win it all but misses his conditioning. When he is 1% off, everyone can tell. Shawn will find himself in the top 5 again.

3- Big Ramy

Mamdouh Elssbiay, or Big Ramy for short, is the biggest man in the competition this year. He will come in around 300 pounds. In his updated pictures, his waist looks small, and his muscles look downsized, but that could be from photo angles. If Big Ramy brings his conditioning from last year, and improves, he could be a winner.

2- Dexter Jackson

The most consistent bodybuilder ever. This is Dexter’s 18th Mr. Olympia. The 2008 Mr. Olympia champion is looking to dethrone the champion. Dexter’s progress pictures look good, as always. He will be crisp. It will be interesting to see if his legs will be as strong as they have been, because for bodybuilders that is the first that goes. I see Dexter in the second place spot.

1- Phil Heath

Phil Heath will win #7, tying himself with the Austrian Oak, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Phil is too complete for his group. If Kai Greene would compete, there would have been a chance that Kai could have won one of the previous installments, but that isn’t going to happen. Phil will be one behind Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney for the all time record.

Dark Horses

Every year there is a Mr. Olympia surprise. Someone that you would expect to win.

Lionel Beyeke

Small waist, huge muscle bellies, but seems to always miss when it comes to major contests. If he could dial it in, just once, he could be a major factor.

Johnnie Jackson

Rumor is that he will retire at the end of this show. Johnnie won’t come close to winning, however he has the upper body to compete with anyone. With the right conditioning, he may finish in the top 10.

Lukas Osladil

Lukas shocked the world and won the Arnold South America this year. He brings freaky conditioning to each show. If he added size and brings conditioning, he may find a top 8 placing.

Agree or Disagree? Sound Off Below!

Kai Greene gets invitation to 2017 Mr. Olympia

Breaking News!!!

Kai Greene gets Special Invite to 2017 Mr. Olympia

Will Kai Greene Compete at 2017 Mr. Olympia?

Kai Greene gets Special Invite to 2017 Mr. Olympia

Breaking News: Kai Greene gets special invite from Jim Manion to Mr. Olympia 2017. This news was released this weekend and it shocked the bodybuilding world. Typically to qualify for the Mr. Olympia you have to either win a bodybuilding show or qualify on points during the calendar year. Due to the fact that Kai hasn’t competed since the 2016 Arnold Classic, it was looking as if Kai was going to sit out the 2017 season.

Will Kai Green Compete at the 2017 Mr. Olympia?

With just 12 weeks to go until the Mr. Olympia, I give it about a 10% chance that Kai competes. It normally takes 16 weeks of dieting and training to get ready for the Olympia and although Kai stays in great shape year round, I don’t see him jumping into the fray this year. It is disappointing because I think the Olympia needs Kai.

If Kai competes, can he win?

If Kai competes, he is destined to be in the top 2, and if Phil is at 90%, Kai can dethrone the champ.

Stay tuned for more breaking news.

Scorecard:

Olympia-16-Men-212-1.jpg

Top 5:

1 .Phil Heath: Phil was Phil. Best back on stage, great muscle bellies. Still not the Phil we saw earlier this decade. Waist keeps getting wider. Back is lights out. Friday night I had Dexter winning, although Saturday I think they made the right decision.

pjimage

2. Shawn Rhoden: Shawn looked great. I would have had him third behind Dexter but not extremely upset with the decision.

2931-shawn-rhoden-29_final.jpg

3. Dexter Jackson: Dexter is the man. 47 years old. Looked amazing. Hard to imagine that this is the “third” best bodybuilder in the world.

1874-dexter-jackson-85_final.jpg

4. “Big Ramy”: What a difference 24 hours makes. Big Ramy was “small” by his standards on Friday. I’m assuming Chris Aceto tried keeping him small to show conditioning. Didn’t work. Came back Saturday and pushed to move up to the top 3. Insane size.

41262-mamdouh-elssbiay-159_final.jpg

5. William Bonac: The new Giant Killer. William Bonac has more muscle per square inch as anyone. Small waist, huge legs, great muscle bellies. If he was 5’9 he’d be your champion.

25398-william-bonac-77_final.jpg

The rest:

Roelly Winklaar (6th) showed us a physique straight out of Dr. Frankenstein. Look I know that many of you all will think he should win. He doesn’t get lean enough, he isn’t aesthetic, but damn is he huge. Markus Ruhl 2.0.

Cedric (7th) showed us that he just doesn’t nail it. Maybe he can’t, maybe his body won’t let him get leaner. He has an ideal physique to some.

McCarver (8th) is 25 years old. Yes only 25 years old and stood close to 285-290 pounds. If he would have been able to lean out another 5-10 pounds, he may have been top 5.

Josh Lenartowicz (9th) had a hell of a debut. He was shredded. Still needs to add some mass to his chest, but looked amazing.

Justin Compton (10th) has the muscle, just needs to dial his conditioning. He is young, he will continue to get better.

Victor Martinez (11th) would have been top 8 in any other Mr. Olympia the last 10 years. Unfortunately this year was stacked.

21797-roelly-winklaar-83_final.jpg35912-dallas-mccarver-15_final

Everyone else:

Nathan DeAsha (12th) could have been anywhere between 8-12. He looked insane. See if he does damage at the Arnold next year.

Steve Kuclo (13th) needs to go back to the drawing board. Looked okay. Not his best.

Ben Pakulski (14th) nailed his conditioning but everyone knows that his legs are world class, and everything else isn’t.

Akim Williams, Michael Lockett, Lukas Osladil, and Brandon Curry weren’t ready.

Hall of Famer Kevin Levrone:

I cannot talk bad about a champion like Kevin. Kevin is 52 years old, and had only been training for a few months when he jumped into the Mr. Olympia on a special invite. I hope I look half that good at 52!

1257-kevin-levrone-223_final

Summary:

Phil wins #6. This ties him with the great Dorian Yates. He is now one behind Arnold Schwarzenegger and two behind Ronnie Coleman and Lee Haney. I do think that talent is slowly catching up to Phil, but the judges like what Phil brings each year.

Kai Greene was on Jimmy Fallon and not at the Mr. Olympia. Hard to believe that is true. He may have missed two opportunities the past two years to beat Phil.

Can Shawn win next year? Will Dexter continue to compete? Can Big Ramy, Bonac, Compton, Cedric, and McCarver make the gains necessary to win? Will Phil continue his dominance? We will know in 12 short months.

2015 Bodybuilder of the Year Awards

This is Team Nutrition Train’s 1st Bodybuilders of the Year Awards where the winners get absolutely nothing but the prestige and honor of winning this such lowly award.

The categories:

  • Rookie of the Year
  • Surprise of the Year
  • Disappointment of the Year
  • NPC Bodybuilder of the Year
  • Pro Bodybuilder of the Year

Rookie of the Year

Nominees: Dallas McCarver, Kim Jun Ho, Michael Lockett

Winner: Dallas McCarver

Dallas is the new X-Frame that bodybuilding desperately needs. While Cedric can’t get into shape, and Toney Freeman is running out of time, Dallas is young and is still growing.

11909366_1465719203733418_1695268715_n

Surprise of the Year:

Nominees: Dexter Jackson, Branch Warren, William Bonac

Winner: Dexter Jackson1874-dexter-jackson-237_final

Branch came back gnarly and shredded in 2015, William Bonac is the new giant killer, but Dexter wins Surprise of the Year. Dexter won the Arnold for his record fifth time, then finished second to only Phil Heath in the 2015 Mr. Olympia.

Disappointment of the Year:

Nominees: Cedric McMillian (for failing to get in shape), Kai Greene (for failing to sign a document to compete in the O), Zane Watson (Arrested)

Winner: Kai Greene

Sigh, the pictures heading into the O showed Kai Greene primed and ready to take on Phil, but unfortunately the documents were never signed and Kai did not compete at the Mr. Olympia. Many say that he was “banned”, in which he was not. He was given a document to sign and it didn’t get signed. It was probably over negotiations of his likeness, his new supplement line, or who knows what. Overall he was a huge disappointment to his fans.

521391

NPC Bodybuilder of the Year:

Nominees: Cody Montgomery, Sergio Olivia Jr.

Winner: Cody Montgomery

Although Sergio looked great getting his pro card, Cody Montgomery is on a roll! 3 x Teen USA, Youngest Mr. USA in history, Cody has steamrolled the competition and expects to make his 2016 debut soon.

15845_9i5jupka

Pro Bodybuilder of the Year:

Nominees: Phil Heath, Dexter Jackson, Flex Lewis, Jose Raymond

Winner: Dexter Jackson

I can hear people say “but Phil won?”. Phil did win, but he competed only once. Dexter is in his mid-40’s and won the Arnold Classic for the 5th time, and finished 2nd at the Mr. Olympia, 7 years after winning his only Mr. O. Phil winning his 5th Olympia is impressive and puts him 1 behind Dorian Yates, 2 behind Arnold, and 3 behind Ronnie and Lee.
